Moorpark is fortunate enough to have some great neighboring cities including Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Camarillo, and Simi Valley.
Each city has its own unique history and their own special attributes and sites that make them worth visiting. For example, Simi Valley is home to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library – which is one of the only presidential libraries in the entire nation. The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library is home to Air Force One, which is the presidential plane that Ronald Reagan used while he was in office. Additionally, Simi Valley and Moorpark were two of the first cities ever to have nuclear power. Thousand Oaks has a slightly higher per capita income (compared to the other cities mentioned), and it has a good amount of service related businesses and nice neighborhoods. Thousand Oaks is also home to a number of some very nice parks. Somis and Camarillo are both farming communities, but over the past twenty years, Camarillo has moved towards becoming a modern city, and now, it has its own university with new facilities. The population of Camarillo has also expanded quite considerably since the 1990s, and their economy is diversifying at a very rapid pace.
The Moorpark Chamber of Commerce is proud to say that we have positive relationships with the chambers of commerce of Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Camarillo, and Somis. These cities’ governments have also enjoyed working and prosperous relationships with Moorpark as well.
